Ghanaian Dancehall sing jay, Jupitar, in a latest radio interview has admitted Dancehall Veteran, Samini, was the one who made the genre accepted in Ghana.

In his own words, “Samini is a Veteran who has been doing Dancehall and defending it for years. He was the one who Africanized Dancehall music in Ghana and made it acceptable. There are other names who also contributed to the growth of Dancehall and I respect them too but Samini did a lot.”

Jupitar however eulogized Shatta Wale as well – another staunch face of Ghanaian Dancehall. “Shatta Wale has also done a lot for the industry. He came with his own movement. He has done so much too; he went off the scene some time and came back stronger. I call him godfather too because he is also a Veteran in the genre. I learned a lot from him too. Both him and Samini are Veterans”, Jupitar explained.

Jupitar was on the morning show (Daybreak Hitz) on Hitz 103.9fm with KMJ on Friday, February 24th. Jupitar is one of the top-rated mainstream ‘Dancehallers’ who has won multiple awards. Below is a video of Jupitar’s latest single “Clowns”.
